Manga Realities: Exploring the Art of Japanese Comics Today

Last October 1, I was able to see the Manga Realities Exhibit at Ayala Museum. Manga Realities is a travelling exhibit by the Japan foundation showcasing several manga titles via a three-dimensional space. It featured nine manga artists and their works.

On the tables are the pages of No. 5 by Matsumoto Taiyo. I love that giant picture!
I only had few minutes to look at Sugar Sugar Rune by Anno Moyocoeven even if it's one of my favorite mangas 'cause of the students taking pictures there.

I stayed in Children of the Sea (section) by Igarashi Daisuke for a long time because I viewed one by one the panels in the table. There is a sea creature sound on the background too. The sound is weird but calming somehow.
One of my favorites was Sennen Gaho by Kyo Machiko. Her artworks were so simple and cute.

  Beck and Nodame Cantabile.
One of the reasons why I wanted to go to this exhibit is to see this room from Solanin by Asano Inio. I actually don't know about this manga but from different blogs that I read, they loved this room so when I was there, I knew the reason why.
I want to have a puppy tissue holder like that! When I'm seeing cute things, I do a weird sound so I did that weird sound when I saw it, and hoping that the guard didn't heard me.

Outside the room was some excerpts from the manga.

The last room that I entered was The World God Only Knows by Wakaki Tamiki. There's a stone and a robot on the table and a lecture about moe.

I didn't took photos of Five Minutes from the Station by Kuramochi Fusako. There were shelves of manga on the third floor but sadly I didn't read, even one 'cause of the time.

I actually thought that I can't go to this exhibit like other exhibits that I planned to go to because of some issues at work and the weather so I'm really happy that I was able to see those lovely artworks. :)
